Books

"Peace of Mind is the most important prerequisite for Creative Work"- R. Feynman

To achieve a peace of mind takes years of internalized thought. Nurturing the opportunity for our thoughts to dig deeper and span a wider landscape. Once the mind is open, the inrush of novel ideas exerts a strong pull in new directions and leaves us humbled by the vastness of information and applied knowledge.

It is perpetually stimulating to continue dancing in this creative space, as more learning strums a curiosity that connects us to the surrounding world's marvels.

My love of reading can take on different forms:
  • A tactile and visual relationship: flipping the weathered pages of a physical book or clicking through the convenience of a Kobo e-reader.
  • An auditory (audiobook) connection to hear the living voice as an instrument of emotion and findings.
I have listed some favourites that have shaped my trajectory and opened more opportunities to explore (click links for wisdom):
  1. Thinking Fast and Slow, by Daniel Kahneman (2011)
  2. Tools of Titans, by Tim Ferriss (2016)
  3. The Brain that Changes Itself, by Norman Doidge (2007)
  4. Sapiens, by Yuval Noah Harari (2014)
  5. The Story of the Human Body, by Daniel Lieberman (2015)
  6. 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, by Jordan Peterson (2018)
  7. Quiet: The Power of Introverts, by Susan Cain (2012)
  8. Why We Sleep, by Matthew Walker (2017)
Not to dismiss the imaginative powers of fiction, an incredible Series I have come across pairs the brilliance of detailed settings and dialogue, delivered with captivating character tones:
  • Red Rising, by Pierce Brown (with the best Narrator: Tim Gerard Reynolds)
